What is an ebook? Firstly, an ebook is a bit of a loose term. Some people require to a website as being an ebook if it contains only information about one specific topic.
Personally I think of an ebook as being a PDF. A file which you can download onto your computer and then read.
Whichever definition you choose to take you should be creating your very own ebook. There really is no time like the present to begin.
Ideas for your ebook. You probably already have a topic in mind for an ebook. Perhaps you have a website which focuses on computer repairs. You may decide to write an ebook which explains in detail how to replace certain parts. Or, perhaps you are an enthusiastic swimmer, you may wish to create an ebook about swimming techniques.
Basically, it really does not matter what you write your ebook about. As long as you choose a subject which you are enthusiatic and knowledgeable about. A good ebook is one which is easy to read, the content should be all of the following, exciting, informative and well layed out. Keep everything relavant. Think from your readers point of view, ask yourself if you would be satisfied with the information which is being given.
How to make money from an ebook. There a variety of different ways. The most obvious way is to create an ebook and sell it from a website or on ebay, I wont go into it in this section but selling ebooks on ebay is a great way to make money.
But be warned, the second that you put a price on our ebook people will adopt expectations. If you decide that you want to charge for your ebook then you better had make it good, really good. If you are a reputable kind of person then your credibility rests on your ebook. If you sell poorly thought out rubbish people will feel ripped off. If people feel ripped off you can wave good bye to your reputation.
A better way to make money, personally I do not like the idea of charging my visitors for an ebook. I would much rather give the information for free. That is not to say that I don't want to earn money. I reckon that the best way to earn money with your ebook is to use affiliate links. Include relavant affiliate links, blend them in to your content. Sure, people may view your ebook without you making money, but nevermind. In the long run you are likely to make some good money through the affiliate link.
Also people don't like paying for ebooks. From my experience, a fixed price ebook is likely to lose you a visitor. That is, unless the ebook is written on a really specific subject area, or you have estabished credibility. If neither of these apply then your visitor will simlply search elsewhere. After all what subject area has only little amounts of content on the internet?
